Michelle Doyle
Junior High Program Director
Ms. Doyle is in charge of Alsion's teaching staff and program. She is responsible for developing curriculum and setting the academic schedule, communicating with parents and overseeing student conduct and performance. She also teaches English, literature, history and social studies.

William DeHart
Mathematics Teacher and Parent Mediator
Bill DeHart teaches mathematics from prealgebra to AP statistics. Mr. DeHart represents individual parents when they have matters to bring to the attention of the Alsion board. He also plans, schedules and supervises out of town, overnight outdoor educational experiences for our students, such as the School’s week-long annual biome trip, senior service week-end, endurance hikes, and ropes courses.

Paul Go
Director of Early College Program and Advanced Placement English Instructor
Mr. Go ensures Alsion Early College students are registered for classes at Ohlone College that are transferable to four-year universities and lead to an Associate’s Degree He counsels and guides Early College students about their four year college admission. Mr. Go also teaches AP English Literature and Composition classes; and supervises the Early College Study Center.

Jennifer Schriber
Director of Science Education
Ms. Schriber teaches 7th & 9th grade life sciences, 8th grade physical science (physics & chemistry) and Advanced Placement Environmental Science. She is also an advisor for outdoor education projects at the Alsion Early College Program.

Carter McCoy
Director of Social Studies & Language Arts
Mr. McCoy teaches American history and co-teaches world history, civics, economics, geography, current events, and debate. He also teaches grammar, spelling, composition and literature and physical education.

Maria Romeo
Fine Art, Art History, Digital Art and Videography
In addition to drawing and painting, Dr. Romeo links her art lessons to subjects normally taught by other teachers such as: color theory the physics of light, perspective and shading to geometry and the history of the Renaissance. With both traditional media and the new digital tools, her first aim is to teach her students "to see". (Aesthetics)

Karl Allmendinger
Consulting Astronomer and Physical Science Resource
Mr. Allmendinger is a retired aerospace engineer who shares his considerable understanding of physics and space in the lab with Alsion's eighth graders three mornings each week. He also leads the "Astrotech Group," a student club that is involved with astronomy, navigation and remote control aviation.

Maria Fabiana Grant
Spanish
Fabiana Grant, a native of Argentina, teaches 7th, 8th and 9th grade Spanish. Instead of teaching from a text book, Mrs. Grant uses the immersion approach to teaching Spanish. While there are daily lessons in grammar and vocabulary, Fabiana Grant insists all of her students to speak to her in Spanish during class. She then assists them with correction whenever mistakes are made. Her students use a cloud based artificial intelligence program from Rosetta Stone© to complete their daily assignments. This enables students to progress at their own pace and level.

Dr. Alan Gillette
Coach, Alsion Math Club
Dr. Gillette is the coach of the Alsion Math Club, which competes against other schools in both regional and national tournaments. He also works with Alsion’s top math students, introducing them to advanced topics in mathematics.

Michael Leahy
Founder, Board President
Head of School
Mr. Leahy founded Alsion Montessori Middle/High in January, 2000 after a group of parents with children enrolled in the Montessori School of Fremont’s elementary program approached him to find a way to continue their Montessori education in Fremont beyond age 11/grade 6. Mr. Leahy has guided the Alsion Montessori Middle/High School project from a class of only a dozen seventh-grade students in September 2001 to more than fifty students, grades 7 through 12, today.
